2. Chemotherapy Cycle (The Session)

Treatment works in cycles (e.g., one session every 14 or 21 days) to give the body time to recover.Outpatient Chemotherapy: This is the norm today. You come to the day hospital, receive your intravenous treatment (infusion) for a few hours, and return to your hotel the same evening.Chemotherapy Hospitalization: Necessary only for heavy or complex protocols requiring 24h/48h monitoring.

Arrival & Pre-Chemotherapy Assessment

VIP transfer from airport to your hotel. Comfortable installation. Appointment at oncology center for complete pre-chemotherapy assessment: blood test (CBC, kidney, liver function), ECG, cardiac ultrasound if necessary. Consultation with oncologist who explains the chosen protocol (molecule names, number of cycles, expected side effects). Possible placement of implantable port (catheter chamber or PAC) to facilitate infusions and preserve your veins.

First Chemotherapy Session

You are welcomed at the day oncology hospital. Comfortable installation in reclining chair. Specialized nurse prepares your infusion. First, anti-nausea medications and hydration. Then, slow infusion of chemotherapy molecules (duration varies by protocol: 2h to 6h). You can read, listen to music, rest. Regular monitoring of vital signs. No pain, just possible fatigue sensation. At end of session, personalized advice and prescription for home medications. Return to hotel same evening.

Inter-Session Period & Effect Management

The 7-14 days following the session are a recovery period. You may experience fatigue, mild nausea (well controlled by medications), decreased appetite. Our team ensures daily phone follow-up. If needed, clinic consultation for supportive care (hydration infusion, complementary medications). Control blood test at D7-D10 to check your white blood cells and platelets. Rest, balanced diet, light walks recommended. You can enjoy your hotel, gently visit Tunisia.

Following Cycles & Final Assessment

Following sessions proceed according to same protocol, every 14 or 21 days. You can return home between cycles and come back for next session, or stay in Tunisia if you wish. Midway (after 3-4 cycles generally), control CT or MRI evaluates tumor response. If tumor regresses well, we continue. At end of complete protocol (after 6, 8 or 12 cycles depending on case), final evaluation assessment to measure effectiveness. Multidisciplinary team then decides next steps: monitoring, surgery, radiotherapy or maintenance protocol.
